Got the new grill on!
Sorry For the crappy pics...but the celly was all I had.
I found an OE grill off a '71 on Craig's list. It had a little surface rust and some dings, but anything is a step up from the beat up chrome that was on there before. I painted the black bands back on it, too...Im not really sure if Im down with it yet...I liked all that chrome, but I guess it'll grow on me. Oh, I had to throw in a picture of my helper...

I like the black bands, looks solid. Good helper too, I've got a boxer to lend me a hand.

Re: Got the new grill on!
Very nice job on the grill. I like you "think" I prefer the all chrome GMC grills, but the 71/72 grills are growing on me too. You definitely did a good job on yours.

Re: Got the new grill on!
Far as I know only the 71 and 72 had the black trim. 67 thru 70 were all chrome/shiney.

Re: Got the new grill on!
there was a black outter stripe of sorts. LMC is wrong.
I too prefer the 68 - 70 better, but, I think I'd go for a straight 71 grill over a kerfagled 70 grill. it looks good. |

Re: Got the new grill on!
I like it... The black sort of breaks the monotony of too much chrome.
The one on my 68 was painted and I've been debating on having it chromed at some day in the future. Not sure if I'll do it though. |
