Re: Surf Blue
Small update tonight. I finally got Fuel Cell Guy some money for my fuel cell (maybe in 3 weeks I'll have it) and got a little more metal work done on the bed. I also got the driver side rocker molded in with the cab corner ,and got the first round of priming and blocking done on the tailgate.

Re: Surf Blue
My tailgate was done being worked ,and I was just too eager to see the color on the outside of the truck. So I painted it on Thursday. Since then the motivation bug has bitten. I pulled the front clip off, welded in the patch panel on the fender , and disassembled most of the interior to get going on getting it painted. I am planning on my fuel cell being here in 2 more weeks along with some new fuel line. I'm also going to be ordering a new radiator support soon ,and I'd like some opinions on it. What I'm having trouble deciding on is whether to paint it black ,or blue same as the truck. I'm not going for a show truck just a super nice truck. So post up your opinions on what color the radiator support would look the best in. THANKS.

Re: Surf Blue
In my first post in this thread I said Iwas going to paint the truck yellow ,and white originally. Now I have changed my mind to blue, but I had already painted the firewall. So yes , now I get to paint the firewall blue. Does this help explain the multicolor stuff I have now. ( I know it's dumb) I'ts all going to be blue in the end .

Re: Surf Blue
69chevyshort, that a nice looking blue!!!! My Opinion on the radiator support is that if your willing to paint the inner fenderwells blue then paint it blue, if you going to do them black then paint it black. BUT I WOULD DO BOTH IN THAT BLUE.

Re: Surf Blue
I don't care to look through the grill & see the body color so semi-gloss black for me on the core support. Should help the billet grill stand out too....

Re: Surf Blue
Paint the front part semi-black and the rest blue....(your a painter so you shouldn't have any trouble with finding a nice parting line )

HAHAHA I get it parting line. Yeah you're right. Not to worry though by the time it is all said and done there will be no lines anywhere.

Re: Surf Blue
Made some more progress this week. Got the dash stripped and primed, and got all the rust repaired around the windshield. The pass. side fender has been primed and blocked 4 times now , and is cut-in , and ready to go back on the truck. Unfortunately the truck is no where near ready for the fender. The driver side fender is done being bodyworked ,and in it's first round of blocking. The door jambs are also ready for primer ,but I'm going to take it to work to do that there. A fellow board member (sneakysnake) sent me some templates for cutting out the AC vents in the dash , which made things much easier. (THANKS SNEAKYSNAKE) Anyway, the doors are next to be worked , and then the bed. I've also talked to fuelcellguy , and my cell is ready I just need to get it from him. Here's some more pics , enjoy.

Re: Surf Blue
More progress has been made. First I ,received my fuel cell , and got it mounted. Still waiting on fuel line and fittings though. My driver side fender has been primed and blocked 4 times, is cut-in and ready to go. I also got most of the inside of the cab stripped and primed including the jambs, and boy was it a real PITA. Although my original hood was repairable I happen to come across one of the cleanest used hoods I've ever seen, and I got it for 100$, what a steal! I got the underside of it painted today, but it's still at work so I don't have any pics of it yet. I'm planning on getting the firewall and the cab (inside) painted in the next few weeks sometime. Some new interior pieces have also been ordered , so when it's painted everything will look nice on the inside. Here's some more pics ENJOY! Oh yeah that's not a dent in the roof the pic just looks funny.
