mirror measurements needed: 1972 below eyeline mirrors

does anybody have, or can get measurements of the mounting pieces?

just like the ones on the truck show in this thread.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=298804

length of the single arm that goes to the top of the door, and length of the legs from the flat mount area....

I have a really nice set of 73-87 WC mirrors, but the mounts are way too wide, and I want to modify the mounts to fit the holes on my 72 doors....

thanks,
Mick

Re: mirror measurements needed: 1972 west coast style

It's hard to tell the size of the mirrors and mounts on the fire truck, but here's mine i got from the local Checker Auto store. As you can see, the top brace I had to bend to fit the correct positioning or the mirrors would have stuck out at an angle. If you're looking for the small tripod supports, they usuall come with the smaller mirror heads (5x7)

Anyway, maybe these pics will help you. If not, we gave it a shot. Good luck with the project.
