WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
Not sure what the heck this guy is talking about. This is listed as for 73-87 truck with Dolby Digital stereo. I never knew such was offered before 88-91 Maybe in a Sub or HD Dually.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300240678151 May be a good option for those of us with dashes hacked by PO's for cd decks.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
My '91 Suburban had the larger style radio opening like that but the '88 Burb I had previous had the smaller style. Must have changed in '89 ? to the larger type. Makes it easy to put an after market radio/cd player in-dash.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
I think I would ask the guy for a good picture of the radio area.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
Im pretty sure in my '00 Sierra the radio is a 1.5 DIN, kind of a stupid size, cause u can only buy aftermarket 1 or 2 DIN radios, the 1.5s are extrememly hard to find...at least for me...

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
What I got out of it was that he or the po cut it to fit that radio, I didn't think he ment it was stock like that.
Skyline, they make a kit that fills in the area so you can put a 1 DIN radio in. We put one on my wifes CRV.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
My 90 Suburban has the same bezel. The link above is a factory GM bezel.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
Hey 79, i actually did get that adapter when i got the truck, and put a 1 DIN in there, but i would have loved to get a 1.5 to fill the space, i think it looks a little odd, but most aftermarket installs look a little out of place to me anyway, just me i guess....

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
I think 89 is when it changed. This is actually really cool because you can take a CD player out of a ~2000 year truck and it will bolt right in place and look stock. I believe the connector will snap right into place and the radio will work.
It's also cool because an adapter that makes a standard DIN radio fit will bolt right in, no cutting required like on older trucks.

Re: WTH? 1.5 DIN radio bezel
That is a 1989-1991 R/V FACTORY bezel to fit over a 1.5DIN radio. My 1990 Burb and my 1991 CrewCab both have this bezel.
This is where I "fixed" the radio that was in it (linked to my forum, let me know if it doesn't show up)
