I'd keep it. Looks just fine the way it is. I'd go with some different wheels but otherwise it sounds like a sweet truck.
Doesn't 1973 make that emissions exempt ? If so, I'd consider that truck to be something to hang on to in California, because I can't leave anything stock under the hood.
