Smile 70cst Progress...Down to the frame. Yes!!

I just got a call from my body shop and the cab and bed are off and Curt is going to take the frame and have it sand blasted. Curt was going to manually clean the frame but once he got the cab and frame off he thought it best to blast it. The frame is very solid. The rust concerns are the cab rockers otherwise the cab is clean. Since I will be installing the take off bed it means that I will have zero rust in the bed area. The bed that is on the truck and the spare bed that I was going to use will be sold. The window will need to be replaced because of the fog issue. I hope to stop in later this week and take some pics.

Re: 70cst Progress...Down to the frame. Yes!!

Yea...It is sad the bad body shops make it bad for the good body shops. Curt might be slow but he is a straight shooter and when he gets done you will have a solid cruiser. He has been in business for over 34 years and one doesn't last that long unless your good. He has already rebuilt the 402 and tranny. Being in sales I am normally overly optimistic but I do feel comfortable with Curt. I guess when its all said and done I'd rather have it take longer and be pleased than the other side of the coin.

Glad to hear the re-build is beginning. It's always nice to find a shop you feel comfortable with....

Re: 70cst Progress...Down to the frame. Yes!!

I'll have to give 70cstjr the credit for that. He worked with Curts brother-in-law. I followed up with a visit and he had a 57 Chevy he had just completed a rodsteration and it was sweet. Mine will never be a trailer queen but a nice cruiser. All in all it will still be cheaper than a new truck.
