ground question
I was putting my cowl on my 70 chevy truck today. When I put the cowl over the windshield wiper mounts it had a little spark and it also had a little spark when I put the screws in. The battery and the radio antenna were still hooked up also. It did not spark after I put the side bolts on. Is this right or do I have a ground problem. Thanks.

Re: ground question
Not normal... Sounds like you may have short somewhere. First thing I'd do is get a meter and take a reading between those points where you saw the spark and ground. The frame, body and engine are all ground and should be the return for the battery.

Re: ground question
the radio probably has a bad ground.
The ant has a ground in it, and as soon as you touched the cowl to the body, it grounded... which causes a spark. |
