72 Front Tow Hooks For Sale - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

After doing some research and talking to other members and truck owners, I have found out that these were dealer installed front tow hooks on a 72 Chevy I had. Makes sense to me, as it had dealer installed A/C, cruise control, and dealership badges. No one was able to give me a price on what they might be worth. They have the mounting hardware. I see the factory installed ones are pretty pricey at over $300. But per board rules I must post a price. So I will start by asking $175 shipped for these. If anyone has an opinion as to what they are worth feel free to chime in.

I'm interested, but I thought they 72's had extreme bend hooks? Anyone have more info?

Am I correct in saying the extreme bends were factory installed, and like you said LeddZepp, these are dealer installed?

Dealers installed about anything you wanted if you were willing to pay all the extra money.But,there are GM accessories and there is aftermarket.GM marketed their own accessory catalog with some thing made only by GM vendors and some common aftermarket items (like Ventshades) packeged as GM parts.
Those hooks are what are known as "Jeep hooks".and are as common as can be.You can still buy that exact hook.You can get them in chrome,too.They were mounted upright on the top of Jeep frame rails.On our trucks,and most other vehicles,they were a pain to hold a strap or chain until you had tension in the line.There are stainless clips offered for those hooks for inverted mounting to make up for this inconvenience.They do what they were made to do.But,nothing you can`t just go out and buy today for cheap brand new...sorry

I think you would be lucky to get $20 for them.

Its nice to have hooks but those are super common. I have a set here that I would take $20.00 for shipped !!! Come on someone has to have $20.00

I wouldn't trash them, they would work great on the rear frame rails...

Like others have said, these are very common but they were sold and installed through the dealers.
