Me a while ago
someone rear ended me and brock them both. I had a set of 1 7/8's headers so i had exhaust shop install and insurance pay much cheaper than the $400 set of ram horns manifolds.
O ya headers sound MUCH smoother |

I took headers off, mainly because they didn't fit very well. The right side rubbed the frame and the brake lines, doing a big number on my brake fliuid.
They also had every bolt loose, at the header and the collector. Glad to go back to the ram horns....and if you want to get them cheap.....go to a muffler shop......they throw away alot of them for people changing over to headers. Guess they don't know what they are worth.......

Jackal2k9: They're not that bad, the drivers side crack is an inch or so long and maybe .025 wide.. I haven't looked at them in a while. I'll let you know. Probably not going to put headers on until I convert to an auto trans this spring/summer, but I'll hang onto them for you if you want them.

so.....
What is a set of good, not cracked, and good studded rams horns worth? I have a set that came off my 71 because my heads wouldn't accept them... the valve covers were hitting them. I had to go with Headers. I was going to slap them on the 68 if it ever got a v8 but I have 2 sets of headers... I have the ones that sweep back, instead of going straight down.

deffinately. and if you dont want to go to headers i can have them patched for you cheap 15 bucks or less.
as long as its not craked around the gasket surfaces. Dirt Dobber: the exhaust shop wanted to charge me 200 a pop to get replacements when mine were broken in a collision. Thats inflated a bit... ebay value is 125-300 depending on numbers, condition, etc. Last edited by Jackal2k9; 02-13-2003 at 11:25 PM. |

I was until a had a little incident at the lake.... I didn't realize how deep a hole was and went down into it...I didn't get stuck but it bent my exhaust pipes up into the bed floor broke my carrier bearing bracket and cracked the passenger side manifold where you could see inside of it.... sucked but it's fixed now and i have some cheapo flowtech headers on it now
