Power brake conversion question

I bought a new brake booster kit from CPP. The problem I have is that my Edelbrock performer intake has 2 vacuum locations, 1 is going to the transmission and the other goes over to the valve cover. There is a smaller one on the rear of the Edelbrock carb but is a smaller size than the fitting that was supplied with the booster kit. Do you think I can just get a smaller fitting and hose for the booster or do I need to do put a "T" or something in the line that is going to the transmission? I do have this question out to CPP but would like to get this figured out pretty quick. Thanks for any help.

Re: Power brake conversion question

Do it either way just make sure you are getting manifold vacuum. My preference is a tee or a multi port fitting for the intake.

Re: Power brake conversion question

The one to the valve cover should be on or close to the carb. It seems the performer carb has a 3/8 vacuum outlet at the rear of the carb. There is a opening in a runner in the manifold in back of the carb. This works good for the power brake & can be t'd with the trans. hose. The trans can be hooked to the carb if there is a 1/4 tube with vacuum at idle.

Re: Power brake conversion question

I got a fitting for the back of the carb and hooked the booster to that. I have good vacuum and believe this will fix my problem. Thanks.
