61 cowl air inlet and vintage air question

Ok so on my 61 the heater box had an inlet that went into the cowl. I was just thinking that would be a sweet cold air intake. I was thinking of just building a intake that will attach to an air cleaner housing. I can get a pic if nobody knows what im talking about.

By the way Im going with vintage air unit so there will be nothing on the firewall. While on the subject does anyone have pics of vintage air or simular set up installed. Also the bulk heads for heater and A/C hoses to go through the firewall?
