Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.

Rolled out of bed at the crack of dawn and headed for Pigeon Forge to check out the Shades of the Past crowd. For any of you that have been, you know how hard it is to take it all in! Cars and trucks everywhere as far as you can see.

How could you miss this monster?

I like how this was done.

How can you go wrong with red??!!

I've got a soft spot for green!

If there's a cool "look", this guy nailed it in my opinion. Low, but not to low. Full hubcaps, tasteful striping and a great theme that he stuck with and flows nicely. Probably one of my favorite trucks I saw all day.

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.

A different tire/wheel selection would have put this one close to the top of my list as well.

Too cool!

Even though there was a for sale sign on this 54.....I really don't think that it was for sale considering what they had it priced for.

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.

Christy`s 54 fit right in.Lookin`good.Can`t wait to see her prowl after the mods.

I`ve been quiet about my `67 GMC plan. But,that guy with the shop truck got some of it in his look.I have to assemble mine from several trucks,so no 40 year old patina. But,I want a "personalized from the late`60s/early`70s by a not so young rodder who isn`t so concerned with current trends as much as from where he`s been" look. Not exactly lost in the`50s,but an evolution as I recall the way things were with the older guys back then.I have powdercoated juicy red 8" rims, will have radials made in wide 70 series w/narrow whitewalls, and full wheelcovers.Just a peak of the red rim showing.I don`t want it to look restored.Casual is the theme.Thinking a faded look with Hotrod Flatz.By the time I get there I`ll be seeing my truck built by someone else. It`s already been a few years since I`ve had the plan.I like that truck.

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.

That's not Christy's 54 in the pics, it's just the same color. It would have been to much of a trip with the 6cyl 3 speed and no a/c. Now when the V8/auto swap happens......we'll be all over it. We drove the 350Z yesterday.

Great pics.

Maybe I'm just grouchy this morning but I get a little tired of seeing all the for sale signs at shows - really takes away from the beauty of a vehicle IMO to have a big "For Sale" sign in the window!

I'm with you bro! I think that's why some of the bigger shows don't allow signs unless you're in the swap meet/car corral area.

For the record I didn't even go to the show......All of these were shot out on the street.

Thanks for the pictures as always! I like you're taste.
I agree about the for sale signs but than again I'm always intested in seeing what people are asking for there rides.

Did you get the price of the the 4wd at the top?

Re: Sat pics (9-6) shades of the past.

I see lots of signs "for Sale" on rides at shows.I also think it detracts not only from the "look" but from the value.I mean if it's so nice why are they selling?I know there are reasons for some to sell but others seem just to be seeing if they can get top money for whatever they are driving.

Nice shots Asa. I hate I missed ya'll.
Did you get a shot of the 54 shop truck that was in town? It was tastefully done like the green 69or70 above. I meant to get some pics, but never even got a chance to get the camera out.
