converting an original 72 to short bed

Do you think it would be a bad Idea to shorten an original 72 with the factory bigblock and A/C and stuff. Would you guys consider this to be ruining an original truck. This is my new project and I think it would be a lot cooler if it was a short bed. Just wanted some input.
Thanks, Tim

it depends on your view of it, If you like it for the fact that it is a original, heavily optioned truck, then keep it. But the way i look at it, it's your truck, make it how YOU want it. If you really want a shortbed, shorten it it, it will still have the 402, and the AC.

my no sense

I'll be cutting mine down this spring. But then... I bought another "Daily driver" LWB Fleetside for the day to day and occasional cruise-in's. The 71 LWB will be cut down and made into a SWB stepside. I've always wanted one and have never found the right deal.. so I'll just make one LOL.

If I only had one truck? I probably wouldn't do it.

swb

I am going to do the same thing. 71 402 cheyenne, tilt and tack. It is probably worth about 5000.00 more when finished. I am going to use another frame. I think? If you plan on keeping it, cut it.
