Radiator support... What fits what?
I'm looking to pick up a replacement radiator support and battery tray for my 70. Found a set from a 67 that are in great shape, but after looking at a couple of new ones for a price comparison, it appears that the radiator supports may have been different between the 67 and 70.
Anyone know if the 67 radiator core will fit my 70? I'm assuming that the battery tray should be the same for 67 and 70... anyone know if this is right as well? Thanks! |

Re: Radiator support... What fits what?
They are not the same. The 70 should have some perches welded onto the front of the support for the headlights whereas the 67 lights mount directly to the support. I have one of each and it looks like most of the bolt holes are in the same place though. The earlier has some extra holes along the bottom for the gravel guard. I have pulled the perches off my rusty 69 and welded them onto the 68 and I am going to try and mock up the front end of the truck in the next week or two. I'll let you know how it turns out.
If you are going to run out and buy one get the 69-72 version. The battery trays bolt up the same. The only difference is AC or Non-AC.

They are not the same!
also 67-68 chevy's will fit 67-68 GMC's but you need to install headlight buckets onto the chevy core. Edited by mod. You must be a subscribing member to post things for sale. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 09-17-2008 at 03:20 PM. |
