frame problem

well my truck is not a rust bucket but about a foot behind the cab the frame starts rusting and is cracked.. well i got a compete frame given to me has a rearend and all the front end () but it is a long bed frame.. how hard is it to use the back half on my short bed frame? also im having a professional weld it so it should be pretty strong. im gona have him box it right there to.

if it's a professional welding it they should have no problem. also, there are several write up's on converting to swb
