Dash Illumination & Blinks
Hello Guys, I am wondering about my dash light bulbs, specifically the turn signal bulbs. My turn signals work on the corners, but I get zip on the dash indicators.
After poking around some I discovered one wired socket with a 194 bulb in it, just dangeling under the dash. Looking at the back of the the instrument panel I noticed just the plastic bulb sockets w/194 bulbs in the places where the blinker lights go. Is this right? Thanks. 1969 C10

Yes,the lights just twist in. The plastic curcuit sheet makes the electrical connections.

Re: Dash Illumination & Blinks
You may have a loose ground or a fuse that is not getting good contact.
I had the same problem on the way home last night. I cleaned the corrosion off a fuse and made sure the ground was ok, so now it works. Everyone of my trucks had a bulb dangling under the dash when I got them, they were either for the glove box or the heater control. Danny

Re: Dash Illumination & Blinks
This bulb looks like the other dash ones( which are grey) except for the wire.
Should all of the dash bulbs be the same? thanks

Re: Dash Illumination & Blinks
I believe that the wire is like a fiber optic cable and the other end likes up your shift indicator...

Re: Dash Illumination & Blinks
Does it matter which socket it is in? Thanks

Re: Dash Illumination & Blinks
Be sure not to put it in any of the designated sockets, like blinker, alt, brake,hi beam light holes.
