You need to go out in your yard and do some more checking before addding any unneeded confusion to the thread. I have a 70 K/5 and a 71 K/20 Burb here, both purchased only for their factory hooks and their hook mounting bolt holes/pattern are in no way any different from the five other 72 K framed rigs that I currently have here. When mounting these front hooks there is not much room to play with in between the front bumper and front spring hangers and with that said, you can mount any 69-72 hook in the stock 72 K frame bolt holes or go the other way and mount a 72 extreme hook on a 69-71 factory hook K frame as I have already had 72's on the for mentioned 70 blazer.

Wanted to also add that I have had several different sets of each type, both 69-72's and 72's mounted on my loaded 72 Cheyenne Super K/20 over the years, at least 7 or 8 different sets combined and never once had any type of fit/mounting issues. like I already said above there is not a bunch of room fore & aft to play with mounting locations if you are planning on running a factory type bumper, and your up & down bolt hole location is limited by the height of the frame/channel.

yeah, I knew that there wasn't much room for error on drillling these and that's why I come to you guys for my answers. The PO really butchered some holes with the Oxy Torch. Last thing I want on my rig are sloppy holes for how bling these hooks are. Thanks to everyone who has donated their time to this thread. Trevor

Sure don't want to "add any unneeded confusion", but the couple extreme hook trucks I parted both had one hook mounted lower than the other. Several of us looked at them and suspected it was necessary because the hooks pointed the same direction: one toward the inside/hanger and the other toward the outside. In any case, I don't have nearly as many trucks or parts as he has shown us, so he probably got them to switch around & fit.
Just be very careful on your clearances with the hooks you are using and you will be fine.

This is actually all good knowledge.I know that holding both`72 hoohs up to one another they have the same mounting.But,I can see that the hooks,may need slightyly different positions,due to the direction of bend and location of the front spring hanger.I know "all" 69-72 hooks have tight clearance there.My GMC had 69-72s on it,so I know it will be apples to apples in my case.
So Trevor,I tols a lie.I had a heck of a day that went in no way as I had planned.I went out early to take care of business figuring on being back within a couple-few hours.I got back burning headlights.Fortunately,it`s not dumping buckets as forecasted,so I`ll gitter dun.I`d still like to make a template and mail it to you.Just say the word.
Have you considered cutting/swapping frame horns vs drilling?I`m not there,but I envision the possibilty of a situation where you`re drilling part weld and part frame which could "steer" your bit off center.

I made a template but I cant get it to scan at normal size, if you give me your address I can mail it to you.

I went to measure mine and it would be hard to give accurate measurements with the bumper on.There`s no room for a square.If the bumper is in there`s not much choice on location.A template would be the ticket.

Thanks Tim, I may try to get the template from Blazerman since he is just a state over. Still wouldn't mind to see your belts for sure though, and thanks million for trying to help me out. I believe these type of threads become real useful to a lot of people and I am glad that I could say I was a part of a good one. I believe we will be able to drill through if we drille a bit nicer hole to start and then weld around the hole leaving more metal and less weld to drill through. It's either that or use a plasma cutter to get a starter hole and then drill the rest for the nice diameter. Hey Rob, you got mail bud. Trevor
