Re: Finally my own build thread!
Josh,
Yet another nice addition to the build. Are you going to have them ceramic coated?

Re: Finally my own build thread!
I did a flat black on my IROC headers, but I wasn't happy with the look afterwords as the held oil and dirt more than a shiny finish would have.

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well since i am waiting for the passenger side header flange so i can start building the header I took the cab off and started roughing in the rest of the exhaust. I love the way it is looking and i decided to keep the exhaust off to one side so it allows room for access to all the hard lines that are going to be on the inside of the frame. Anyways here are a few pics.
Josh * I almost forgot. We have a new addition to our family. He is a black lab/border collie mix and 11 weeks old. He has big droopy ears and a curley tail. Here is a pic.

Josh,
Did you decide on how you will exit the exhaust? |

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well I have been thinking about it and I think (key word is think) I might run it all the way to the rear roll pan. As you know i was originally going to do a side exhaust but I thought i might still be able to do something kind of cool by running it all the way back. I thought maybe some cool rectangle w/ rounded corners exhaust tip flush with the rear roll pan cut into the roll pan might look good. Does that make sence? I will see if i can find a pic of something similiar.

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Finally got the passenger side header done. It has a slightly different design than the drivers side header. The reason for that is because there is less room on the passenger side because of the starter. It made it more difficult to design but a little easier to build. I still have to finish welding the primaries to the flanges but needed a little brake first. Anyways here is some pics and hopefully tonight or tomorrow i can get the rest of the exhaust built underneath the cab.

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Thanks for the complements guys! It helps keep me going and motivated!!!
I was able to get some more exhast done. I still have to weld it up but the exhaust that is underneath the cab is all ran. Now I have to order a few more bends to make it over the rear axle. I should have a few more parts showing up the next few days so hopefully some more things done this week and weekend. Here some pics Josh

Could you post up or pm me some pics of the from rack and pinion set-up? I'm having problems with my tie rod ends attached to the steering arm on the spindle, the ball joints don't seem to have enough movement

Re: Finally my own build thread!
Well i decided to change my gas tank. The more i kept looking at it I liked the design but it just didn't fit the style of my frame. Plus i finally decided where i am going to put all of my compressors, tanks, and ride pro solenoids which wasn't on the frame so there was no reason to have the gas tank with that notch. So i built a new one which i love. If flows nice with the frame, stronger since i put in a full piece of solid aluminum tubing spanning from one side to the other side on where it mounts to the frame. I still have to weld the top on but i need to figure out how i am going to get the electrical in the tank for the fuel pump. Trying to come up with something clean and can't think of anything. So until i decide on something the top will stay unwelded. The tank will be powdercoated when all done.
Also i got my new rear end (pre 69) so now my wheels will fit in the rear fenders . The axles are getting re-drilled to the correct bolt pattern as we type so this weekend i am going to roll the truck outside and fully assemble all the sheet metal parts except the hood. I am dying to see what it looks like fully assembled. Then in about 2 weeks or so i am starting on the engine. I have decided to build a custom sheet metal (aluminum) intake manifold, and valve covers. I love the look of the sheet metal intakes and my father used to work for Hogans Manifolds so between the two of us we are hoping to bang something out that looks sick and performs well. I know i could buy one but where is all the fun in that. Anyways here are some pics of the gas tank. My battery for my camera died so this weekend i will take some more. ps. YZF450 this weekend i can get you those pics. Josh
