My New Toy

I bought this 1973 K20 Long bed for $500 needed a good tune up and matching tires, to be legal. Question though, should I remove the extra spring kit in the back? I hate the rear bounce. I will not use it for any real towing.

Re: My New Toy

The winch works too, 6000 lb and enough cable to pull for a half mile, it looks like. It was a Cali then moved to storage at a hunting cabin for ten years in Idaho.

Re: My New Toy

Looks like a good, solid ride. If you don't need the extra springs, pull them and bring it back to its stock configuration.

I have already ordered BFGs for replacements, I am going to switch out the distributor and wires as the guy has the wires arcing everywhere. Clean up the engine. Then after that I plan to pull the bed and redo part of the frame. I need a new tailgate and front fender. That is all of the replacement parts the body needs. It is going to turn into a DD and also a mild off roader since I am 2 miles from playing. Going to keep most of it stock. I may use the herculiner on the bed and possibly the rockers since the salt here eats vehicles so bad.

one question does anyone know how the fuel switch under the seat works? It seems to have three positions.

The circle thingys are tie downs that will be history. It also used to have a camper at one time so it has about 60 rivots around the back window from the old seal.

Re: My New Toy

got any pictures of the other chevy's?

I like your plans. A truck like that needs to get out and do some good old wheeling
