72 C10/and 95 1500 switch-a-roo
I got a 95 chevy 1500 with a 350/700r the rear-end has leave springs
I want to put engine and trans. in to a 72 short bed C10 I found. also brakes AKA master and boster; Ac and any thing else that will go . 72 rolling chassy only no engine trans. The 72 has factory AC but is trashed with 12 circet fuse box Also the 72 has no cluster or dash or seat or gas tank it just a shell. or Would it be eazier to do a whole body switch after shorting the frame or somthing like that Any advice on this before i get started would be helpful and this seems like the right to ask I think that i can do all the work my self because i just got a new screw driver set from The HOME DEPOT ......Oh and a nut driver set too LoL! So will be fine |

Re: 72 C10/and 95 1500 switch-a-roo
hey look, I brought this very idea up before, and got booed off stage. Personally I think it's brilliant to do the body swap with modern (and un messed with) gear and chassis. You will have body mount issues and you'll have to get wheel openings to line up (is there a wheelbase difference?) but I want to do this, and WOULD do it if I did it again.
Also consider you can move seat and column over, even dash (i was lookign at an 01 and liked the dash). I say you work on a solid cab, then get it on the new frame, then get all the systems in and you're only problems will be mounting in the old cab (no systems interchange as it all moves over)
