Can anyone tell me I am not CRAZY?

I must be crazy, I couldn't help myself! I went to look at some "rust free" doors and ended up with a whole truck! The only problem with this is I am only halfway through my resto of my 68 short fleet big block. I could'nt really afford it but, when I saw the 72 Cheyenne short fleet big block I had to have it! It's a sad story one I'm sure you have all heard before; The story goes it was originally from Nevada found in a junk yard,(minor fender bender) was driven back to NW OH. The original motor was rebuilt front end suspension gone through and has been sitting in storage for almost 19 years now...If anyone from the midwest knows these trucks are just not that plentiful here in this condition (especcially in your back yard (15 miles away)). I will not say what I paid for it but, I think it was fair. The truck looks much beter in person than in pictures. I can see through the mis match PERFECT tailgate and fender and faded paint. The truck has factory air, tilt and a 402 BBC. I have checked all the numbers Block, intake, exhaust manifold, cab door (build date) and they all are correct. I also got the stock wheels and hub caps, carb for it. You may have seen it on Ebay? I must be crazy because I need another truck like I need another hole in my head. I will park it for now and start restoration at a later date....pictures attached..BIG BLOCK RICH...CASH POOR...

Re: Can anyone tell me I am not CRAZY?

You're not crazy. You just suffer from acute GM Truckitis. It is unfortunately not curable but can be treated by excessive purchases of GM branded trucks at random intervals.
Just in case you had not realized it this is the support group for said GM truckitis.

Looks like a nice solid truck, you'd have something wrong with you if you didn't buy it.

I'll go #2 on trying to get those cool wheels...

Re: Can anyone tell me I am not CRAZY?

It looks like it would be fun to drive as-is

A resto would be great, but you could use it as a parts runner for now -- sweet truck

Don't know what you paid, but i know what i would potentially pay, and its probably more---
-- great score

Gearheadedness

There is no cure only the therapy of buying and building more classic trucks.

Looks like a great truck! All it needs is a mild drop and you're ready for the cruise ins! If you ever decide to part with that old tacky air cleaner give me a shout.......I like tacky.

Re: Can anyone tell me I am not CRAZY?

One time I went to pick up a radiator support and came home with, a radiator support, rust free doors, brand new front fenders, Hood, and a tailgate.

Its just the way this hobby is, you go and find out they have more then what you knew about, sometimes you dont even need everything you buy, but we cant pass up a great deal.

Re: Can anyone tell me I am not CRAZY?

Chevys2die4 ,
youre not crazy. If you are then just about everyone here is
I went to pick up a tilt column and ended up buying a whole truck for parts 2 yrs ago. Recently went to buy a windshield and bought another parts truck for the 5 lug swap to my 67 shortbed. But neither were as nice as that one!!!
