Question Floor jacks

My floor jack is dead!

I need a good one but after looking at reviews about Sears models I'm looking for some input!

Any ideas?

Re: Floor jacks

I bought the big orange from Harbor Freight. I've had it 5 years with no problems. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=34271 I don't know what you're looking for, but it works for me.

Re: Floor jacks

Well if I were you I would NOT buy the aluminum race jack from JEGS
I had mine for about a year & then next thing I knew it was broken (the threads inside had stripped out & its not really fixable & the warranty is only like 30 days)

If the had just used some steel inserts or something, the jacks would be great

Re: Floor jacks

I picked up one from Sears, with the free jack stands and haven't ran into any issues.

Re: Floor jacks

i got mine at sears also, craftsman professional 3 1/2 ton.I think it also came with the stands,, been a while. What i like is, in 1 pump it will go up 20"...or until it feels resistance, then it pumps normal. You dont have to sit there and pump it for 5 minutes waiting for it to reach the tranny.

Re: Floor jacks

Check CL often. I found a smokin' deal on an old Hein Werner jack. Those were made in the good ol' USA and are quality stuff. I think it may need a rebuild, but it just might be low on fluid.
