My new 72 Cheyenne Super.

I went on vacation last week, and came home with this '72. It's a factory air cab, with power steering and a BB 454. I had a couple of questions about a few things I'm finding as i go over it. I didn't recall these coming with a 454, or the alternator and ac comp. being set up the way mine is(see pics). AC on the driver side and alternator and the passenger side. I will be looking to install the Vintage Air Sure-Fit system before next summer. I would like to find out whats going on under there before i run into any problems with that kit. Im still kinda green when it comes to these trucks btw.......

thanks!

in this pick the upper radiator hose in resting on the AC compressor pulley.

to the board. Very nice! It looks like the 1973-up accessory long pump brackets. Vintage air will have the right parts to fit.

Very nice truck. The 454 isn't factory. The 402BB was the largest engine that was avaliable in that year truck. Still as said...very nice truck.

beautifull truck, but there seems to be a few things that indicate it may not be a real super.

Re: My new 72 Cheyenne Super.

Mark, first, and formost, I don't want you thinking I am raggin on your truck. If it is real, or not, the condition makes it worth more than anything I own, and worth more than my two truck combined.

This is a maybe... is that lower trim black, or is it woodgrain. I can't tell in the photo, but it is supposed to be woodgrain.

In here is where I see most of the inacuracys. And it may well just be an oversite on a restoration... but in here, there is the wrong brake pedal cover, no wood grain on the door panel, inst panel, glove box door, the badge on the glove box door is not placed correctly.

Is the SPID (option sheet) intact inside the glovebox door? If so, do you have any photos?
And also, does the truck have a cargo light on the back of the cab, and how about a headliner inside? If so, do you have any photos of this?

Wasn't thinking that at all. From what ive read on this forum lately you are the man with the knowledge.
The SPID is not in the glove box. The entire dash was painted black. The truck original color was a yellow from what im finding under the carpet and up underneath the dash. I believe the previous owner removed the wood grain around the instrument cluster ( current one looks to be brand new) and glove box. There is a cargo light out side of the cab, factory headliner has also been painted white. door panels are also new and painted to go with the color scheme of the truck. as for the brake pedal ???? I'll get some more pics up today. I really appreciate your help finding the true original state of my truck!!!!

Re: My new 72 Cheyenne Super.

well, with what you are describing, it may well be the real deal.
And I am glad you aren't taking this as a jab at your rig... like I said, it's worth more than everything I own (excluding my snap on investment)

Re: My new 72 Cheyenne Super.

It prolly just had the pedal pad replaced using a standard one over the years.I`ve had plenty with mixed pads.

Wow... Looks GOOD! I see you from FL, I actually picked mine up in FL. what a coincidence... What drop do you have on yours? Looking to bring mine down just a hair more in the front and few more inches in the rear.

Real deal or no deal, it's a sweet ride and we are glad you got it. The last owner didn't find us to show it off and you did. That's makes it much better than it as before...
