This just sucks
Pics tell the story, it happened Saturday night. It was outside as we were cleaning out the garage to put her away.
This truck started it all for me and my boys. We bought it as a father-son project 10 or 11 years ago. Brought her back from the dead as it was an old rusty beater out of Maine. 250 six, no options. Brian and I worked on it and reinvented it as a BB truck with lots of stock optionsm, buckets tach dash, etc. Not sure if we can do it again, depends upon whether the frame is damaged beyond repair. We don't know yet. It "looks" like a hood, fender, etc, but she leans heavy to one side now. Plus I'm not sure if the cab is fubar'd it got smashed near the top of the windshiedl piller by a branch. Anyway, needless to say my oldest son (now 25 is bummed). If she's gone, I see another K20 coming to life from the ashes.

Re: This just sucks
All I can do is Sorry for your mishap. What are the odds of having your truck sitting at that spot at the exact time that the branch decided to fall?

Re: This just sucks
Man, this is the second truck taken out by a tree since I've been a member on here. What are the odds?
Sorry about the loss, but totally fixable and at least no one was hurt.

Re: This just sucks
I cut down every pine tree with 1/4 mile of anything I own - seems most pictures of damaged property have a smattering of needles in them.

Re: This just sucks
Its fixable one way or the other and noone was hurt. If the frame is bent, it looks like a K20 or C10/20 LWB will rise from the ashes at some point. We have all the parts, and like I mentioned it has a built 402 with a lot goodies still salvageable.
She does lean real bad, the pics don't show it.

Re: This just sucks
Pine trees are the devil! A branch fell across the bed of my 67 during a storm back in college. It was a pretty good size, probably 4 or 5 inches in diameter. It was rotten and dead, so it broke easily across my bed rails. My truck was in primer back then. It put some dings in the bed rail and 4 or 5 quarter sized dings in the PS fender, but the brunt of the attack was taken by my friends '00 V-6 mustang that was parked next to me It poked some holes in the hood and the entire car had to be repainted. No pics, didn't have a camera back then.

Re: This just sucks
Ouch, sorry for the damage.Looks like it's time for a new bonding experience.Could be broken cab or suspension mounts causing the lean.Hope it's something simple.
BTW How good of a neighbor is he?File against his homeowners insurance. It was an act of God and should be covered.

Re: This just sucks
The truck was damaged by your neighbors tree his insurance company has to pay for the damages caused. Call the police and make a police report contact your insurance let them know of what happened, your insurance will contact their insurance and you should not have an issue getting it fixed.
Main reason why I have collectors insurance on my truck just in case....

Re: This just sucks
Sucks for sure but I dont see the frame being hurt much there. A hood & fender will go a long way...

Re: This just sucks
like corn said, I doubt if the frame was affected at all. looks to me like a hood, fender, grille surround, and cowl. all parts that are easy to find! oh and the antennae. >>however if the neighbor's insurance is swinging the bill, ask for genuine GM replacement parts!<<
