Re: whats the difference?

The super had several goodies...dust shields between the fenders and doors, "super" badges, insulation against the firewall inside the cab, deluxe door panels w/woodgrain inserts (72 only), upper and lower trim (woodgrain on the botom) Woodgrain sticker on the guages and glovebox, houndstooth seat cover (if bench seat), door jamb switches that activate the dome light. Basically a trim package, nothing special done to the engine. More stuff I am probably forgetting (and I own one!)

Re: whats the difference?

I'm pretty sure all models had the insulation on the firewall inside the cab, not just the Super's.

Re: whats the difference?

According to other board members, The Super had it only and is one way to help distinguish it....but I am not 100% sure. Maybe Harold, Andy or one of the other pros will chime in to verify.

Re: whats the difference?

the only thing added to a super, is an inst panel with the acc guages verses dummy lights, woodgrain accents on inst panel and glove box door, cloth inserts on bench seat, badging, and on fleet side models, the upper trim was added and chrome tailgat latch trim

Re: whats the difference?

did all of the "supers" have bucket seats with the console in the middle, or was that just an special option? also what was the difference between a "CST" and a "custom" trruck? Is it just me or are all of the 71 and 72 chevy trucks all cheyenne's?

Re: whats the difference?

Buckets and console where an option on any 69-72, not just for Supers. The CST option ended in 70 (Blazers excluded), in 71/72 the high end option was the Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super.

1 buckets were an option in all 67 - 72 trucks, and only in 67 were they part of an option package... the CST
2 CST was the top of the line option package from 67 - 70. In 71, the exact same option package (and option code) was called cheyenne. Custom is a lesser more plain package.
3. no, most were not cheyennes

Every 67-72 truck I have ever owned has has interior firewall insulation and I have never owned a Super.

So what's the difference in the two different door panels? Anybody have pics of the two to help us distinguish the differences?

Re: whats the difference?

Well, I guess somebody down the line prior to my ownership of my '72 Cheyenne has put '71 door panels on. I must admit I like the '71s better.

Thanks guys.

Re: whats the difference?

Papa,

Although, there is a fella on here that I am talking to about a set of '72 panels.

Re: whats the difference?

Greg
My guess is that some one has changed complete doors and all including the panels rather than just the panels as i am not sure if you can screw the arm rests on from an 71 to a 72 and another thing is that the window handle and door handles would stick out further ,,
I don't know what GHHGFD Is either ,,have to ask the one who wrote it (71 3/4 ton) .
It' s must good though ,,like ""Glad He Has Good Fine Doors"" or something..LOL papa
