Re: 85 c10
Are you sure it was a 5.3? If so, what did it originally come out of? If it's all original stuff, then you are looking at a 700r4 that sould pretty much bolt right up.

Re: 85 c10
yeah no 5.3's in 93 it would have to be a 5.0 or a 5.7 TBI if it was a 93 or a 4.6 TBI V6. Unless you ment 03 then it would be a 5.3. if it is a 93 it would be a 700r4 which is an easy swap. If not then it is an electronically controlled trans.
Welcome to the forums. there are a few good write ups on the 700r4 swaps that can be found using the search feature.

Re: 85 c10
Hey all.I really stuck my foot in it,huh. My friend bought the truck wo a motor.
Just the trans. Sorry to say I juat assumed it was a 5.3 and 4l60 trans. So 93s have the 700r4? Thats even better for him, I think. Thanks everybody for correcting me, and all info. Muley |

Re: 85 c10
Does the 4.3 really have a turbo 400 behind it?

Re: 85 c10
4l60 and 700r4 are the same transmission the difference comes in with the 4l60E which is electronic
the 4.3L has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the v-8

Re: 85 c10
What if the 700R4 came out of an 87' IROC, can I use it in my 2wd 79' Blazer?

Re: 85 c10
All 2wd 700R4/4L60 and 4l60E trannys are the same length as far as I know so yeah it should work.
