Warn hub installation help
So i have automatic hubs now but when i went to 2hi sometimes it seemed like it wanted 4 hi again, wheels stuck, so figured it was bummed hubs, had store credit with 4wheelparts bought the warns 9790's
Now i was installing one side when i noticed it had no lash (as the instructions say) so toch it off, now heres what i took off in the same order reatiner clip spacer adjusting nut lock ring but i see in the chevy manual book that the retainer ring goes after the spacer, i had it the other way around, does this affect??? ok so going back to the instructions, it says to take the lock ring off and put everything back but i couldnt due to a dimple on the following nut so the only way was to not to put the spacer in, and that way i got a tiny bit of lash for the axle retainer clip to go in, in fact with the spacer in the clip wouldnt fit. Did i hook it up right??? Have only done one wheel. |

Re: Warn hub installation help
What year, and what axle are we working on?
you say auto hubs, so I am assuming a later model 10 bolt. Some of them, the snap ring and retainer was up against the end of the spindle. If installling an aftermarket hub (warn), they get removed. Last edited by kwmech; 11-12-2008 at 10:10 PM. |
