Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
I have not been posting much lately, but that is going to change starting Monday.I have at my shop 4 CNC mills and 2 CNC lathes.Starting Monday,we will be making parts for 67-72 Chevy trucks.First thing is going to be tail light bezels that fit factory lenses.Next is going to be Cheyenne,Super, and the 8-350 emblems.Next will be a new bracket to mount the 1967 rear view mirror, shorter and more out of the way so you can see past it. Now for the fun part, does any body have any thing else they would like to see made.Keep in mind that we are NOT a fab shop that does bending and forming,we ONLY do mill and lathe work.ALL parts will be as machined, right out of the machine, no finish or polishing on them. That way you can finish them how you want them, and it keeps the price way down.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
How about 3 on the tree shifters that are shorter so when you use a Grant wheel or something of that nature the shifter doesn't stick out past the steering wheel.

Trans gear indicator. The plastic ones on 67-68 are not available.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
How about center Caps for wheels. As I have noticed that alot of wheel companies are real hard to get extra center caps from them. They are always on B/O.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
I thought about that and they would be in the $160.00 range for a set of four.I don't think I could sell that many sets.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
I think I'd be interested in a shorter gear selector for my column auto shifter also. I've got the 14" Grant wheel and the shifter sticks out waaaay too far. Also, I'd be interested in that 67 mirror bracket! Can you post any prelim pics of that just to give us an idea of what you're making?

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
If you're gonna set up to do the "8-350" badges, why not do some customs....8-383 etc. Or even some for the LSX swappers: 8-5.3L, 8-6.0L......
I'll take a 6.0L when you finish them |

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
How about some kind of hubcap mount to bolt to the original 3 holes on the rally wheels. That way someone could run dog dish or baby moon caps on rally's.I don't know what they would look like or even if milling/lathing them is the way to go.

I am going to do a few different ones for 383,5.3,6.0,and even a 4.3 for those that have them. Quote:
I am going to try to keep prices down as much as posable.I think most of the emblems are going to be around $35.00 for the pair with hardware and shipping.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
Cool idea I'll see if I can find a rally wheel or two and a hubcap. Are those the three pear shaped studs you are talking about?do you have a pic?

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
I don't have a pic but I think you have the idea. You would need a hubcap to use for a template but if you used a factory one the size should work with several different caps, giving one more option for wheels.I suggested this because I like the Rally's but don't relly want to run 4X4 style centers.

I was going to suggest 8-383 badges too. A lot of us run 383's.

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
Is there any way to do a gague bezel with the factory holes cut out and the edge rounded? Just flat actoss the back. Or a bezel of the factory size with custom sized holes for diff. gagues and a glove box door?

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
I always wanted to buy 6-250 emblems for mine? Was going to actually machine them myself when I was working in the industry but came back to the farm and have no machines here. I also though a nice script that said "Fuel Injected" would be a neat emblem too.....

Re: Idea's on stuff to mill or turn
Can you make any kind of one off emblems? I have a couple of projects and need same machined parts. I was gonna use eMachine shop but they are very expensive.
