Gas pedal assembly?
The gas pedal lever on my truck is loose because the bushing or whatever it is at the firewall is worn out and so the gas pedal lever slides in and out through the firewall. I was wondering is there a bushing separate from the gas pedal assembly at the firewall that holds the gas pedal lever in place or is the piece that holds it in place attached to the gas pedal assembly? Thanks for the help.

What year is your truck, 71-72? There are two different styles of gas pedal mounts, one like yours and the other style is two ball-mounts that are bolted to the floor. I think what you need is the assembly that bolts to the firewall. I know you're looking for a replacement bushing but I don't know of anyone selling that. You could just remove your pedal ass'y and do some of your own manufacturing to create the sleeve you need, or you could spend some bigger bucks and get Lokar's pedal ass'y. It requires a slot in the floor, and a cable ass'y to attach to your carb, but it would eliminate the worn part you showed.

It's actually a '63. I figured I'd post on here because usually you get more replies and it has the same linkage as the late 60's models. Thanks for the help though.

Yours should only be held on by the outside bracket like in 68gmsee's pics. If your pedal isn't worn, you should just need a new bracket.
