long bed is better
I picked up a complete 2.5" flowmaster exhaust out of a 64 a-body. It fits nicely inside the bed. Try that with a short bed. I will try to adapt this for my truck.

Re: long bed is better
Us short beders improvise. I would have had the axle humps on the tailgate and it would have looked like a bad A$$ system that goes out the tail gate.

Re: long bed is better
A longhorn woulda had it all inside the truck if you went caddy corner inside the bed.

Re: long bed is better
Man,I love that little truck.I always wanted a ServiCar to satisfy my bike and truck loves into one.He did it in his own way.Verrry cooool!!
As far as shortbed vs longbed goes.I use trucks and I hear the,"What can you haul in a shortbed",arguement all the time.I always agreed,as far as using a truck as a truck goes. That`s why I`ve always had,at least,a longbed and a shortbed as a second (3rd,4th,5th,6th...)truck.I still use those, too. But to me,being a died in wool truck nut,the shortbed is my car that can also haul.Makes them real handy looking at it that way.

Re: long bed is better
Not sure, but I think he used the frame from an old HD Servi-Car and added a 30s car (Ford?) front end. OK....Keep your eyes on the machinery you all !!!! < 45 CI HD Servi-Car Last edited by DB Smith; 11-30-2008 at 07:44 PM. |

Re: long bed is better
I like the way the tail end curves on that thang. That little truck would be great with the full ServiCar bed and fenders fit on there.Especially with that duck tail.It would need more length. But,that would look better,IMO.More like it might have actually been made.

Re: long bed is better
I have to agree about putting the service box on there but either way this thing is just cool. The creativity and vintage factor is what makes it worth doing.
Oh now I see,,,,,,there is something other than the woman in the pic. LOL Frank
