As I'm still searching for Longhorn Emblems Nu2-72 kindly pointed me to this on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2404734918
On the picture you can't see if the two pins on the back of the emblems are still there.

After asking the seller a question about it he told me that these emblems came from a 69 Longhorn, and that those emblems were glued on, instead of bolted like 71/72.
I always thought that all of them were bolted on the bed, no matter what year.
What do you guys know about this?

Edmond, I can see that they are not flat on the plywood so there are pins back there. You might want to email sakohntr to see if he is going to bid before the end. No sense the 2 of you spending each others money bidding against each other. I have 1 emblem that i got a month ago on Ebay. you are welcome to it for what I have into it. email or PM me.

As to the glued or screwed, I don't know if that was a specific year thing or not. They still came with the pins even if they were glued so all you would need is the nut.

Da-Burb,
After I asked the seller the question he told me that these emblems didn't had the pins, because (in his words) the emblems were glued on in 69/70.
I searched some catalogs and the Longhorn emblems are for 69-72 and are all with the pins and seperate nuts. I prefer the ones I can bolt on, it makes stealing more difficult.
As for the offer on the emblem, thanks but I realy would want a set, so I take my change, and hope to find a set on ebay in the future.

I have never seen one bolt on, nor have I seen remains of posts on the back of the emblims.
If y'all can post a pic of one with studs, that would be awsome.
I know both of the '70 longhorns I have owned had glue ons, and longhornJeff's 69 was glue on...and a 71 I saw in Tx was also glue on.

the emblems on my 69 are glued on, no holes in fenders, etc. I hooked wash mitt on one and pulled off is how I found out.

All the factory longhorn emblems are glue on. That is why they are usually lost.

If you look at the top of the "L" and the "n" you will see pins.

Weren't the 68 Longhorn emblems in another location from the later Longhorns? Perhaps the 68's had pins. I think 69oldie has a 68 Longhorn.

Hmmmmm........You've got my curiosity up with this;
The GMC version of the Longhorn may or may not have been called a"Custom Camper";
As you can see by the picture mine does have the "Custom Camper" emblem above the door handle;
I wonder if these are glued or 'bolted'; I am going to have to rebuild the door handles soon and when the door is apart i might be able to tell

ALL 1968 Longhorns:

Emblems had posts in the back with no "glue/ double sided tape" (BUT NOT IN THE SAME SPOTS AS THE 70-72 (da burb has posted a picture of the LAST version of GM emblems made by GM, which had a combination of both "glue/double sided tape" and posts to hold them in place)???........which means they had different GM part #'s on them........But will interchange with all longhorns if you drill additional holes on the sheet metal.

ALL 1969 Longhorns:

emblems had NO posts on emblems......they were only "Glued/double sided tape" to hold them in place, which commonly fell off!!

I haven't owned any 70-72, so I am not sure what they exactly had??

I know for a fact that there was atleast 3 different versions of "Longhorn" bages made (3 different GM part #'s) because I have 3 different sets of GM original "Longhorn" emblems myself (1 set which is N.O.S. that look exactly like da burbs pictures).
