Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
The other thing you must be careful about on your front end setup is that, yes it does act as a sway bar, and yes it limits articulation. But the problem spot is the axle, it is possible that if you round a turn hard enough you will spin the tubes to the pumpkin. If you are running this setup I'd recommend putting a full seam weld around your tube to pumpkin. We thought of this when we were building my CJ8

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
It will be fully welded around the tubes. It will also have a small truss that will help strengthen the axle. Thanks for the info.

Got a donor for the heart transplant, it's an LMG 5.3 from a 2007 Suburban. It should be at least 400hp by the time I am done with it.......

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
I just read the entire thread and have a question. What type tubing are you using, EMT, IMC or RMC? Seriously, you have done a fine job on this build and I will definetly subscribe this one. One real question. Have you boxed or gusseted the frame at the cage/suspension tie in points?

PVC
I am using 1.75 x .120 wall DOM tubing. The frame will be plated in the areas that the cage attaches to. Then on the inside of the frame. it will have rectangle 2x4 tubing from top to bottom. That should do the trick. |

Re: Here is a "Not Your Typical" 4wd Blazer build
Wow sweet build. I have always wondered what a blazer would look like done up prerunner style. I am eventually going to do a similar build to me Bronco. That is a sexy cage!
