383/Vortec Temp Sender Help
Here's the deal. I've got a HT383 GM crate motor and the stock temp sender is too big to fit any holes in the manifold.
What are you guys using for a sender to the stock temp gauge on the vortec type heads/manifolds. |

Re: 383/Vortec Temp Sender Help
I used a set of late model heads on an engine with the smaller hole for the sender. I drilled and tapped the hole for our year sending unit. I tried getting the right small sender that would match the gauge and gave up after going to NAPA and other suppliers. The small unit may be available but I was not able to locate one that matched.
Another option would be to use pipe fittings to make an adapter. Jim
