checking frame square and alignment

Anyone have a good tutorial for checking frame square and alignment? I am going to be ripping into my 77 C10 and wanted to verify if the frame is in good working order. Thanks in advance.

I am NOT a frame fabricator, however, finding square is the same regardless if its a piece of paper or a concrete slab. Measure diagonally across any square section of frame. If the measures are the same or relatively close then its square; if measures are off it is out of square or 'potato chipped', for lack of a better term(warped).

That's a pretty good way to get it done.

If you can get your hands on a tram guage that would make things a little easier on you .

It's a very good way ... as long as both frame rails are the same length.

yuop i agree on how to check frame squareness, find a few reference points on each side of the frame,, ie front middle and rear, then measeure diagonally, on new cars when i am replacing rainls and such they allow you up to 3 mm of difference, in my opinion that is too much, i allow my self 1.5 mm in difference. i am sure ifppl want a tutorial i could come up with something if it would help some ppl.
