overdrive gear for th400 like on truck tv can...
Can you get an overdrive gear for th 350. Is it expensive.

Check out this site, they are about $2400. You could probably get a 700R4 for less, but with the under/overdrive you get 6 gears, should help gas mileage.

Not to mention the gear vendors is way tougher than a run of the mill 700.
To get a 700 to handle lots of power and live for 100,000 miles, you'd spend more than the G/V set up. (asuming you already have a fairly fresh TH350 or 400) |

i have been thinking about one of those for the longhorn. would kick ass, they are $$$$$$$$$$$$ but worth it i think

Im sure you would go through quite a few 700r4's before you would ever have to worry about the gear vendors. Remember, these are designed to be used on 25,000 lbs motor homes!

Yup, very true. The tranny shop we deal with at work has been selling G/V units for years and has never had a single one come back for repair. Had one guy come back 5 yrs later with a new truck towing his old beat up tiurd and told them to remove the G/V from the turd, and install it in his new truck.

I am also interested in a GVOD. I also note some of you guys work in shops. I posted this question a week ago and didnt hear much. The question concerns the driveshaft. Does the GVOD require a shortened one piece shaft or have you shortened the two piece? If one piece what did you go with?
