i know what you're talking about... alot of ford cars and trucks run that style of endlinks BUT i know for the crown vic crowd i run with, we all throw them away and get the standard strait up endlinks... they seem to work better than the stock knuckle style.

That makes sense. It seems like if the ends of the sway bar can't move front to back, it would aid in keeping the rear axle more square with the car. It might also add a small amount of spring rate if the end links of the sway bar aren't allowed to rotate much on the end link like the typical Ford setup would allow.
