LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
I just got off the phone with LMC. I was trying to figure out which side was the left and right on the door weather stripping. They told me that they were the same when they are clearly different. There is a hard core section in the stripping. If you put it on one side it would be on the front part of the door by the hinges and if you put it on the other side it would be on the backside of the window.
What is the correct position for the hard core section of the weather stripping? Why can they simply put idiot proof instructions in the replacement parts for people like me?

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
Pics would help...what pieces of weatherstripping are you talking about? Cab to door seals, window sweeps, window channel lining??

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
If it is on one side of the truck the hard core section would be in the (A) location and if on the other door it would be in the (B) location.

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
Looks like you mean the cab to door seals. I am not sure...the ones I ordered from LMC did not have a hard core section, and were both the same. I was not impressed with the quality. A lot of people have gone with newer type press on weatherstripping. Wes (classicheartbeat) is a board vendor who sells the press on type . I believe it is from a Dodge Dakota. If you look at the FAQs, you should be able to find pics/evaluations of the press-on type.

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
I already have the cab to door seals (door weatherstrips). I just need to find out how to identify which is the left and which is the right.

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
Someone has to know which would be the correct placement of the seal. Or did they send me the wrong seals? Is there a different forum that I should be addressing this to?
If you are in your shop can you check your door seals for me? Thanks I would like to find out if mine are in wrong...

Now for the question at hand I really believe you may have gotten the wrong set of seals, as I am 100% sure they are exactly the same either side.

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
Thanks for chiming in Byrd...I did not want to say 100% just in case I might have been wrong! In the case of LMC, I believe you get what you pay for. I think they sell those seals for around $20. That alone tells me they are of poor quality.

I hope I am understanding this question right... If not ignore me... If they have a mitered corner like the good ones do there is a right and left and the part that seals has to be toward the door. LockDoc

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
LockDoc your on the right track. They do have the mitered corner. With the seal toward the door it will fit either side.
I would have given the board vendors a try but I got the seals 2 years ago. That was before I even learned of this site (the coolest one out there). Thanks for everyone help on this.

Re: LMC Door Weatherstrip ?
the hard areas go by the dash area and the hinge side// those hard areas were i believe part of an after the fact factory recall for whisteling noises
