ok so i have the window company coming out to install my glass,over the phone they told me that the aftermarket trim was very thin and weak and will have a good chance of getting damaged during install is there any suggestions that will prevent this? should i be concerned?

If you are talking about windwow sealers inner and outer ,,then I would tell them professional window people that you know one guy from a chevy truck forum who is a amateur and he has done all 4 doors on his two trucks and not bent any of them,, and I am the guy. Patients is the key ,don't try and over power them into place ,,easssssy doe's it ..

Sounds like they are laying ground work for a "just in case" potential bad install...then they will say; "we told you so". JMHO

I did have a glass company tell me that they would not guarentee that it wouldnt brake (windshield only) and I had another say he would have to rubber mallet it some but I didnt get that far about guaranteeing it with him..

I think this is common about no guarentee for the front and if they are a known company and been around awhile I would go for it .. Rear window should not be any problem ..In fact I put one myself ,,.. Larry
