Battery Relocation
Okay so how many of you have cleaned up the appearance of your engine bay? And one of those things on that list would be the battery and where to relocate it right? Well I know there where some older trucks with the battery moved to the frame rail under the cab with an access panel out out and hinged in right?
Seems to be a very limited amount of place we can tuck it out of the way but still have access to some kind of terminals under the hood if need be. So what would be a good spot that would be practical and functional at the same time?

Re: Battery Relocation
A couple of things come to mind,,,
The obvious move it to the bed Or if your running a gelcell(optima style) you could lay it on it's side and attach a shelf to the frame with a second set of cables to jumper terminals under the hood. All you would see under the hood is two copper terminals. The battery would be accessable via the hinged lid in the battery box on the shelf. Some of the older (really old) vehicles had the battery in the cab,,,,again an optima style would be best but still not a great idea Or build custom inner fenders to hide everything except the engine. Move everything lower in the engine compartment,,,,as close to the frame as possible. Frank

Re: Battery Relocation
I did not move my battery however I put it in facing the other way and ran the cables straight down to the frame where they are hardly noticeable. The engine bay in my truck is really clean no wires anywhere and the battery does not seem odd, just my .02...

Re: Battery Relocation
I plan on building a mount on the frame rail under the front of the bed on the passenger's side...then run the wires up the inside on the frame rail. Hopefully I haven't overlooked something major
