what do I do now?
Well, I got these kick panels trimmed up and painted, and replaced the speakers and put it back in and the e-brake hits the speaker! Anyone have any suggestions besides hacking off the end of the ebrake handle? I should have checked first I guess but it states that these should fit for a '67-72. They don't. I found it's almost impossible to dim your lights as well. I've been trying to get a hold of custom autosound, but they aren't answering. Someone had to have installed these with too many modifications.

Re: what do I do now?
I have not looked at the ebrake mounting in awhile . Can it be shimmed on the right side or vice versa to make it horizontal to the dash?

I didn't even think about the dimmer switch.

Re: what do I do now?
Mine has been sitting unscrewed to the floor for quite some time. If I ever get around to it, I'm going to cut out the section of floor it screws into and move it over a couple inches.
Not sure what to do about the e-brake cable, I took mine out of the truck a LONG time ago.

Re: what do I do now?
Bending that thing would be interesting, and I looked at shimming it - it looks to be a lot of work - does anybody know if the lever can be adjusted so that when completely off, it sits closer to the seat, so that it would clear the speaker? Right now it would only need a couple of clicks to be all the way off.

Re: what do I do now?
I might be able to, but then I wouldn't have anything to protect it. But that's a thought. I'll have to check that. I'm a little cheesed off that the manufacturers/retailers don't say anything about possible problems in the '67's/'68's with the ebrake.

Re: what do I do now?
they don't mention that you can't use the E-brake on 69 - 72 either. It's not a very well thought out product. 1/2 the aftermarket accesories are like that.

Re: what do I do now?
You would think that with the normal amount of slack in an e brake cable that a couple clicks would be off

Re: what do I do now?
How deep is the speaker? Can you mount the speaker inside the panel and then leave the grille off? Use some light cloth to cover it.
Another is get under truck with e brake off and tighten up cable good so the brake is off when the handle is against the speaker. Not knowing if either of these methods would work since I can't look at it but it's a starting point for you.

I just had my vendor refund my money and they paid shipping back. They are aware of the problem they are just hoping you do not mind modifing your truck.

You can however use the E-brake with no problem on the 69-72's. |

Re: what do I do now?
I got the ones from LMC too, The pass side doesnt fit very well but a demel took care of that. My E-brake handle though clears just fine (1967) but that dimmer switch is impossable to get to with work boots on. I think Ill move it to the righ a couple inches before installing the carpet and insulation padding
