Upper Ball joint once again.

Asked about this before and now after CPP has told me to bad its the right part not our problem I thought I would post up a pic and see if I myself am wrong or if this looks correct. As you can see the ball joint does not sit down into my arm and when I attempted to install one it bent the flanges of the ball join down to the arm squishing out the gasket.. I have never had this happen before so I say its wrong.. Now I believe the joint I tried to install is no good with the flanges bent and the gasket squished out.. I was told "this is the way they are made"... Any insight would be helpful.. Never done one on a 60 chev truck but I never had this happen on any Abody.. Thanks

Re: Upper Ball joint once again.

It's a little difficult to tell what is going on in the photo...is there a way to take the photo a little further back to see the entire ball joint and arm? I've installed three sets of the CPP tubular arms and did not have any issues with the ball joint mounts.

I don't have any experience with exactly what you have there, but it looks to me like a little time with a flap disc on a hand grinder would take care of that ball joint. Or maybe opening up the a-arm would be a better choice?

Re: Upper Ball joint once again.

Have you tried Moog parts for example? I bought some ball joints from Autozone and well, it wasn't so good.

I do see what you mean after studying the pic (between the silver (BJ) and black areas), but I'm not sure if if its a problem. Maybe an area of stress?
