Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
My K5 is lowered 6/7 right now and scrapes on everything, I need to bring it back up a little. I only need to bring it up about 1-1.5" so I think instead of messing with the suspension I am going to try to get more clearance by going with larger tires and or wheels. So, which would you go with bigger tires on the rally's (currently 235-60 and 295-50 ~ 26" tall) or with 20" rims and tires which would have a overall diameter of ~29 ?
I'd really like to keep the rally's because I already have them and tires are so cheap, but they are getting harder to find.

Re: Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
I vote 20's,... only if they fit.
Don't buy some cheap 20's with the wrong backspace just because the price was good. If they don't fit right,... I vote to keep the ralleys.

You mentioned it "scrapes on everything". Can you elaborate? Your current set-up looks pretty close to the tops of the front tires. You might wind up w/the expense of the 20's & trade the 'scraping' for rubbing (which sux just as much).

Re: Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
I think everybody has already given some very good advice... go with some nice fittin' "dubs".
I went the painted steel wheel for a long while, and billet is better. Last edited by smashingchuck; 01-29-2009 at 01:09 AM. |

Re: Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
hey cochino i like the way your truck looks with the rallys. however your current tire size is out of proportions with the scale of the truck, have you considered getting some 15x10s or at least two for the rear and going with a 275/60/15=28"
20's would be bad ass but i like to light um up and at 350-400 per tire means less burnouts http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....76SR5RADTARWL2 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...4755966+400230 |

Re: Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
I have heard that BFGoodrich will be discontinuing their Radial T/A line of tires, which is one of a few that would make the correct sizes for your rallies. Yes, there are other manufacturers but how long till they discontinue their lines. Just a thought.

Re: Keep the rally's or get 20"s ?
I haven't seen pictures of your Blazer since it was painted. I think it looks great. I think it would depend on the wheel whether or not I would go with a 20" wheel. Some of teh ones that look like a bad tennis shoe design would not compliment your truck at all. Personally, I would look at a retro type wheel. I really like the American Racing Ansen Sprints, and you can get them in 17" sizes.
