Re: my fuel pumps clogged
Are you sure it's your pump and not a line? I'd start by replacing the rubber lines if you haven't done it already. If it is your pump, just replace it, they're less than 20 bucks from what I remember.

Re: my fuel pumps clogged
if your fuel pump is clogged you've got bigger problems than just changing the pump
it's time to remove and clean the tank

Re: my fuel pumps clogged
I have never heard of a (mechanical) fuel pump getting clogged.
Why do you think that's whats wrong? There's a screen in the tank, a filter in the carb, possibly another filter inline, lots of rubber than can be swollen and not letting enough fuel through, could be crap in the tank or in the carb.... |

Another thing to check:
On my 68 I replaced all the filters and fuel pump and found that the metal fuel line going from the tank to the fuel pump was so restricted due to rust and buildup that fuel wouldn't come out. I replaced it with one from the autoparts store and placed a filter under the cab after the fuel tank. I replace the filters about every 3 months. |

Re: my fuel pumps clogged
i would try taking the bowl off the carberator. my truck i had the tank in and out since im doing work to the body...and i couldnt get my truck started...so i thought it was the fuel pump and was getting ready to get a new pump..then i took the bowl off the carb and wiggled the needle/float or whatever it was and boom she fired right up and ran perfect
