I assume you want all of the lead gone. Did you try heating it? The lead "should" melt long before the metal and ooze off the tailgate. I have never done it, but it sounds good in theory.

Yes, tailgate. Once i saw it was lead, I used the torch to melt the bulk off and then wire wheel to what you see. Wiped with degreaser and shot with self etching primer.

Uh....You do realize how toxic lead exposure is?
I mean heating it with a torch creates toxic vapors. You should have worn a breating apparatus. Second, to wear a complete haz mat suit covering yourself head to toe with gloves. Then collect the lead and dispose of it as hazardous waste. And wire wheeling it....more danger It's your health, take care.... |
