wheel tubs
I see that the flanges are reproduced. I guess that the complete tubs aren't? This is for a 63 to 66. Thanks.

Re: wheel tubs
Nope. The original tubs are not reproduced. The only options are find/buy good used ones or repair your current tubs.

Re: wheel tubs
A company called Bowtie Bits (www.bowtiebits.com) sells fiberglass rear fleetside tubs, cast from the originals, that are factory correct (except they are fiberglass) for the '60-'66 Chevy fleetside beds. The underside is coated with a material to resist rock chips. I met the owner of Bowtie Bits in Wichita, KS at the Sunflower Swap Meet last Friday and he was telling me about them and showed them to me in their new catalog. I believe they went for $110.00 each, plus shipping.
The owner also told me the swb and lwb fleetside bedsides will be on the market within a year...I have heard this before, but he seemed pretty confident this was going to happen. I am interested to see the quality, fit and finish when they come out. Last edited by LILRED66; 02-10-2009 at 10:57 PM. |

Re: wheel tubs
I have a feeling they arent going to sell too many for that price. I can find wheelwells in original steel here for reasonable prices.
They mite go well with those conversion kits for the 88-98 pickups.....

Re: wheel tubs
The guys at bowtiebits said they have no time table for the bedsides, but they will be steel. Perfect timing for me if they do come out this year. I can always hope.

Re: wheel tubs
Thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm going to learn to weld. I got my bed disassembled, I'm kind of putting together a gameplan right now. I'll post some pics of it when I get them off the camera.
