i hate the word rare. because it sat on some lot for a long time and wasn't titled til '73 by no means makes that truck rare. i wonder if the non-factory paintjob and interior are rare, too. looks like a decent shape bare bones pickup to me.

I feeling the same on this one. Just wondering if there was such a thing back in the day. I remember when my ol man was buying a new 99 GMC and at the same time they offered the '99 Classic', which was a leftover 98.
Just something I've never heard of for these years. I'm no expert, but I'd like to think that I'd at least heard of the 'Magical Five', ya know?

Re: 1972.5 gmc?

it's a 72, period.
If it was a left over and sold in 73, then it is....
you ready?
a 1972.
It is smogged as a 72, it has the safety features of a 72, and every sticker on it says 72 as does the decode of the VIN.
I'd like to talk to these GM guys who told him otherwise... esp considering there's no GMC records.
Like any other butt nugget on e-bay, the word rare means it's worth more, so he'll describe parking lot gravel as rare.

Rare does not equal valuable.

I have a saying that I go by: Its rare that I crap my pants, but its usually not desirable.
