Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
I hope that Valentines day worked out as planned for everyone today....I think mine did. I generally try to have a theme of some sort for my Saturday pics but I don't think this round has one so I just labeled it as a "Hodge Podge".
Some of these picture threads of mine stray a bit away from being strictly 67-72 related. Everyone has been kind enough to tolerate me thus far, but I do always try to have at least one on topic pic per week. I didn't haul anything near as big as the toolbox this week...but I did do a little light hauling... If I ever offered any of you guys a beer...I meant it. Followed by confusion... Went by and saw my buds progress on the pickup that I helped him drag home. The vise grips are still holding the exhaust together! Been working on overhaulin a speedometer for Christy. |

Re: Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
We're still workin on rewiring the 54 (when I say "we" I mean that my brother is doing it while I fetch tools and wire connectors). Hopefully it'll be all buttoned up tomorrow and back on the road.
Threw the camera in the toolbox and turned out the only shots from this batch that I'm proud of. Probably my favorite shot of the week. I hope you guys like em! Maybe next time I can get some more truck shots thrown in! ( I do use the tools to work on trucks....that counts right??) |

Great pics Asa.You always have something entertaining.Did you say the name of your garage was "Hangover Palace"?
You also dispelled a Myth I had about you.Everything about you(at least when I've been around) is always neat and orderly. The wrenches not having their own neat little holders or foam cutouts just seems so out of place in the overall neatness scheme of things I always associated with you.

Re: Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
Deland, They are organized by size! The pic makes them look deceptively jumbled but there is some logic to my system. I've got metric in one drawer and standards in another. Since I brought in that new box maybe I can organize them a lil better. So far all I've put in the new one is my tool kit that I haul around to shows with me...and a yardstick!

I can't have beer anymore since I'm diabetic now, so do me a big favor and drink a few cold ones for me this afternoon during the Daytona 500! Go Dale Jr. #88! ...Joe

Re: Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
Thanks guys! The speedo still isn't workin worth a flip...I'll be taking it back out and hanging it on the wall I guess.
The Summer Shandy is a brew from whoever that other name is on the box. It has a lemon flavor to it. I wouldn't have bought it but the beer store had it on special....$5 for a case. Kinda reminds me of the Bud Light lime, which kinda reminds me of Corona with a lime...but I digress. I also bought a case of Black Dog for $5...I couldn't handle it. It was so dark and heavy I felt like I needed to chew it! I did manage to give it all away though. The Red Dog was on special for $5 a 12 pack and it's good beer. The store I buy from is supposedly the largest beer retailer in the area and buys in volume. You never know what he's going to have on sale when you go in there. |

Re: Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
Mmmm..Leinie's Summer Shandy...Definitely a hot summer day favorite for me. Actually, any Leinenkugel's beer is pretty darn good, but, I digress.
Diggin' the pics as always Asa. I look forward to it every week. The pitted wrenches with the script on them...is simply just rad. -Sam.

Re: Saturday pics (2-14) Valentines day Hodge Podge!
Great Photography Asa!
As for me, I didn't pick up any beer this weekend, but I did venture up around the Finger Lakes in NY to pick up a rear end for my 71. While I was up there I stopped at my favorite winery, Hazlett Vineyards right up on Seneca Lake and picked up a bottle of Red Cat, they're most popular red wine. Needless to say, it looks like everyone's weekend was enjoyed. (Although I could have enjoyed another 40 laps of Daytona) |
