Newbie with pics of my truck
It is a 67 swb with 68 fenders and 68 bed side(for the marker lites).
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Interior shot [IMG][/IMG] Today i put some rocket 17x8 with in front 245/65 and out back 265/70 [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] So now i am looking for some lowering advice. I got about six inches distance between the top of the tires to the bottom of the fenders. Any body know what to order.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Welcome!! As far as loweringyou'll have to decide how much. There are tons of pics in the gallery and elsewhere on the site.look thru them and see if you can find how low you want to go.There are also lots of pics in the builds subforum.Once you find one you like just ask how much it was lowered and what tires(they will make some difference). The FAQ's section will have lots of tech that has been asked repeatedly over time, though members will generally answer any questions you ask there will be more details there. Good luck with you "Altitude Adjustment"

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
really, really, dig the rims! I also would love to have a Vette steering wheel like yours too.
as far as lowering, there's no limit to the possibilities. you can go mild with a 2/4 or go crazy with bags. it's really your personal taste.

Depends on how much money you want to spend and the look/ride you're after. There are plenty of posts on lowering all over this site, search is your friend!

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
When you order a 5/6 drop does it realy drop it 5/6 or more. What i am afraid of is ordering a kit and it is too much. I am in the process of building a 60 over 350 and getting the 350 turbo installed as soon as possiable. Thanks for the help.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Here is some pics of my truck dropped with 2.5" inch drop spindles front, 3" drop springs and 1.5" drop block for rear. I purchased everything from
classic performance products. If you drop more than 4" in rear you will also need and adjustable track bar and shock relocation kit. I also have a 1" drop front spring installed but have some coil spring spacers until I drop the rear with a 4" coil. |

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
You may need to figure out what kind of front suspension you have if you're thinking of going with spindles. Your truck would have been six lug when it was new. The ball joints are different for 71-72 and 73 and up. If all you want to do is change out the springs it shouldn't matter.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Thanks for the input, I will get some more pics up when it is droped. I am in the process of knocking some of the body work out and will paint 2 coats for a guide coat to find where i missed. It takes longer to do it this way but i want it super slick. Thanks about the comments about the wheels and truck.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Love the Rocket Booster Gray rims! I WAS considering those for my truck to be different, there goes that idea!! -j/k I'm just picking, but they do look very good. The kits usually drop them at least what they advertise. In fact, my 2/4 dropped mine more than 2/4, but my truck sat a little higher than most stock ones for some reason. I'm going to put a 1" block in the rear, and I'll be happy until I get new wheels. Then I may have to tweak it a little more.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Thanks! Newstalgia's website is where I first saw the Rockets. They look great on your truck. My springs are McGaughy 2/4 drop springs and I got them from Tim Christian (Christian's Classics) in Rogersville, TN. I don't know how far that is from you, but if you're close you may be able to save on shipping picking them up.

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Really and truely........ These trucks dont get low enough for me with a static drop but I dont like bags. So I droped mine 5/7 and that is how low all that stuff I listed for you will put you. That is really as low as you can go without bags. Maybe you would be happier with 2.5/4

Re: Newbie with pics of my truck
Is the motor/tranny out? She looks a little nose high to me?
For a drop, I think I'm going to go with a 3.5/5 drop. That should give me about 1" tire/fender clearance (measuring/looking straight on at that wheel/fender.) Currently, my truck has ~4.5" front clearance and ~6" rear clearance. Truck looks good, nice rim choice, and welcome to the board
