Absolutely. The slicker you get them, the slicker the final result will be. I have seen some (OCD) guys make them completely smooth prior to coating. Wear a respirator though, those cast iron boogers will give you quite a sinus infection.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
Carlos, give me an idea of the size of your headers. How long are they in their longest dimension.
Also, what is their condition right now ? Rusty used, new, etc...

Kevin,
What would you charge to blast and powdercoat (semi gloss black) two differential covers? They would be free of oil and grime. Thanks.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
I didn't see them spoken for in the thread, so I will take the 70 headlight bezels. Here is my list so far:
The washer bracket and latch pin from the other post and the headlight bezels from this post. I will bring cash on Saturday. Michael Last edited by truckintexas; 02-26-2009 at 11:28 AM. |

Michael, I've got you down for the washer bottle and bracket, but I'm completely out of headlight bezels right now. I'm trying to get more though.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
Thanks for the Washer Bracket and Hood Latch Pin. Excellent stuff. Also, on the rest of the items do chrome on the throttle bracket, shifter housing, and small zinc plated booster parts (wired together). Everything else, black semigloss. Thanks again. Talk to you next week.
And yes, I do want the 70 headlight bezels, black semi gloss as well. Later, Michael Last edited by truckintexas; 02-28-2009 at 03:36 PM. |

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
Here is a hood latch that I did for member 71 Super. Sixty percent gloss black. It looks slicker in person than the pictures reflect. I'm shipping it out Monday morning.
and, Michael, I got a majority of the prep work done on your parts today. It looks like the pot metal shifter housing is going to work out just fine. It blasted nice and smooth. I will get the parts coated Monday when I get home from work. I will let you know when they're done. Should be Tuesday at the latest. Regards, Kevin

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
Kevin.
I got question for ya, Im needing set of seat mounts for a pair of poly buckets I have and I dont like the thin gauge metel the jegs mounts are made of and wanted to use a thicker angle iron. Also I wanted to get these powder coated from ya high gloss black. My question is , in addition to Powdercoating would you be interested in fabing these for me as they are very simple peices and I could pay you for not only the Powdercoating but also parts and time making them and shipping? If thats somthing you dont want to do thats cool and I'll have other stuff to send you later but I thought I might aswell ask. P.S I really like the quality of your work . |

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business
Id be happy to make the brackets, but I am a bit backed up right now. In addition to the powdercoating, I'm building a pretty indepth part for another member right now. It might be a couple of weeks before I could get to it.
