Re: windshield rubbers ?
I just had one installed. I bought it from Tim Christian and it is softseal. It really fits well, and the glass man said it was easy to work with.

Re: windshield rubbers ?
Just had one installed also. Got the rubber from GMC Paul's.
I don't have the brand name any longer, but the local installer had a heck of a time putting it in. I was glad I took it in instead of trying it myself...

I just picked up my gasket for the wide trim. It is Precision brand. I won't be installing it for a few days 'cause I don't have my windshield yet... LockDoc

Re: windshield rubbers ?
I paid $75 for my windshield gasket in soft seal. The others are something like $35, but I paid extra for the better gasket. I think it was worth it and so did the glass man. I had originally put the cheaper type on myself and I would NEVER do that again. Tim said he has seen both brands on trucks and the softseal definitely lays down better.

Re: windshield rubbers ?
Had one in a wrapper never removed, from LMC. Had shipping info on the bag. LMC..Purchaser name n address, dated '95. Got ready to use it ..it was 2 inches too big. Bought one from GMC paul fit like a glove. Now I have a garage wall with a nonusable rubber.

Re: windshield rubbers ?
If you have the shallow trim it takes a rubber for a 71 or 72 to fit. (about an 1/4 inch depth) Earlier windshield trim is almost twice the depth (maybe 1/2 in) requires the rubber for the earlier years. Personally I'd stay with a vendor from the board who knows what he sells rather than a discount vendors that has never used his product n only buys quanity not quality.

Re: windshield rubbers ?
This may be a stupid question but the package it came in says Super Seal, Original Fit, Durable Weatherstripping and its made by counterpart automotive. I wanted to know if it was a precision fit, if not i would buy from a vendor but it it was their would be no need to return it.

Re: windshield rubbers ?
Im not really sure about any other rubbers.by saying that im sure that there are other good ones available however the one i bought first was dis formed and made it hell to install with the trim package. My glass guy highly recommended the precision and after watching him i know why it took about half the time with new precision rubber. As far as super seal i purchased some door rubbers for my camaro about 4 years ago and IMO they flat out suck wouldn't recommend to anyone to this day they still haven't shrank and my doors still have some binding because of it.Now i know they have some rubbers called soft seal that a lot of vendors are carrying but don't know anything about the quality.
